Hello, I am Mike Best, a licensed independent insurance agent in NJ, NY, CT and PA, and a partner
at United Assurance, Inc which is located in Fair Lawn (Bergen County), New Jersey.
My insurance career began with the Allstate Insurance Co in 1990 while working in the Best family
insurance business, & I have been with United Assurance since 1995. Along the way, I graduated
from Bergen Community College in 1997, & then became a Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow
(LUTCF), so designated by the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) in
1999. My professional focus shifted towards business insurance in 2000, and to better serve my
clients, I completed OneBeacon Insurance Group’s (f/k/a CGU Insurance) distinguished 103rd
Commercial Lines Producer Development Program. In 2005, I graduated from the Ramapo College
of New Jersey with a BS degree in Business Administration, & was inducted in to the Delta Mu Delta
national honor society for outstanding academic achievement in business administration. More
recently, I obtained the Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS) designation to certify my
knowledge of construction insurance and risk management & show a dedication to the construction
industry in 2009.
The choice to become an independent NJ insurance agent at United Assurance allows me to work
for you, the client, opposed to being a captive insurance agent and working for only one insurance
company.
